Should you need to change the licensing info (email username and password) for Office 2016 for Mac, take the following steps. Note: this only applies to Office 2016, not Office 2011.
- Using the web browser of your choice, download this small file.
- Locate the file you just downloaded. Most often it will be in your Downloads folder. If you didn't download it using Safari, it will likely be a Zip file, which you will need to double-click to "unzip." See the screenshot below.
- Press and hold the control key on your keyboard
- Click on the "ActivationTroubleshooter" icon.
- Choose "Open"
- You'll see the following message. Click Open
- The program will run (likely without a message of any kind, though you may see an error about Office365Service closing).
- Outlook will automatically launch.
- Manually launch Word or Excel.
- Create a new document and you should be prompted to log into Office 365.
- Sign in using your Microsoft Office 365 Account (your username is your email address).
- When prompted, select "Work Account"
- Enter your email password when prompted and click sign in.
- You should be all set!
