There are several ways to fax using Ring Central. Potentially the easiest is to simply use your email. To use this method, make sure you have the document you want to fax in an electronic form such as a PDF, Word or Excel document. (For a full list of compatible document types, see this document.)

  • Compose an email to an address in the form of faxnumber@rcfax.com. For example, to fax to 317-555-4444, it would be 3175554444@rcfax.com. You may fax to multiple numbers at once.
  • Attach the electronic document(s) as an attachment to the email.
  • Optionally add a subject line, which will be added to the cover page.
  • Click send!

This will then covert the electronic document into a fax and send to the number(s) you specified in the email address. Please note, documents cannot exceed 200 pages or 20MB. You also shouldn't use any ampersand characters in the name of the document (e.g. Starsky & Hutch)

One note: for this to work, you must have your email address associated with your Ring Central account. (Don't know if you do? Try to fax something as outlined above. You'll get an error message if you're not allowed.)

To associate your email address for faxing, log into your Ring Central account online and ringcentral.com. Click Settings. Select "Outbound Fax Settings" and add your email address(es) to the bottom. You can also tweak any information to be listed on the fax coverage in this same area as well as select what kind of cover page style you'd like to use.
