This video assumes you've already setup Synology Drive Client to sync with your server. If this is a brand new setup, please see this video on how to setup a connection first.


  • Select the Synology icon from the menubar
  • Click the gear icon at the bottom right
  • Choose Settings
  • Select Backup Task on the left
  • Click “create backup task” on the right
  • Leave the server as-is and click next
  • Scroll down and select Desktop, Documents and Downloads under your username and click next
  • Leave “continuous backup” selected
  • Click “done” and close the window
