This article describes setting up your Summit PC if you have received a brand new computer without Bionic Cat first provisioning it for you.
The video below shows the entire process (edited for brevity). Here are the broad strokes:
- Turn on the computer and walk through the initial steps of choosing your language, keyboard, country, etc.
- Connect to your wifi network when prompted
- Wait patiently as Windows updates itself and potentially reboots several times
- Accept the End User License Agreement
- Name the computer your name without spaces (eg. PhilCollins)
- Choose "set up for work or school"
- Log in with your Summit Procurement email address and password
- As request, set up your multi-factor authentication
- Wait patiently at the "setting up for work or school" progress screen
- Choose "Skip" at the "Protect your Device" prompt
- Set up your Face ID or fingerprint when prompted
- Leave your computer plugged into power, connected to the internet and with the lid open.
- Email Bionic Cat at support@bioniccat.com once you've completed all these steps.
Internal note to the techs: This assumes the machine isn't in autopilot and the user logging in is in the "intune_users" group.
